MENTAL HEALTH

Healthcare providers generally agree that mental health includes your emotional, psychological, and social well-being.

Mental health is important at every stage of one’s life, from childhood and adolescence through your senior years. It affects how you think, feel, and act. Your mental health also helps influence how you how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices in your everyday life.

Mental health issues can impact your thinking, mood, and behavior. And, importantly, your mental health, in turn, directly affects your physical health and well-being. Chronic illness, as well as autoimmune disease, can be triggered by and/or contribute mental health problems.

Factors influencing mental health

Many factors influence a person’s mental health, including:

  • Biological factors, such as your brain chemistry and/or genes

  • Life experiences, such as trauma or abuse you may have experienced, and

  • Your family history of mental health problems.

In general, good mental health is a sense of well-being, confidence and self-esteem. It enables you to fully enjoy and appreciate other people, day-to-day life and your environment. Individuals who are mentally healthy:

  • Form positive relationships

  • Use their abilities to express their potential, and

  • Deal more effectively with life’s challenges.

In contrast, poor mental health can result in symptoms such as:

  • Having low or no energy

  • Having unexplained aches and pains

  • Eating or sleeping too much or too little

  • Using alcohol or drugs more than usual

  • Inability to perform normal daily tasks

  • Feeling helpless or hopeless

  • Feeling numb or like nothing matters

  • Feeling on edge, angry, upset, worried, or scared

  • Feeling unusually confused or forgetful

  • Experiencing severe mood swings

  • Anger or hostility towards family and friends

  • Withdrawing from relationships and usual activities

  • Having thoughts of harming yourself or others (please call 911)

If you feel your mental health has been compromised, there are many natural things you can do to restore balance, aside from the use of expensive pharmaceutical drugs. For example, food sensitivities testing, genetic testing, changing genetic expressions and biological terrain, taking mineral salts, eating healthy meals, exercising regularly, getting sufficient sleep, learning new skills for managing stress effectively and spiritual counseling can all help.

New Decision Therapy

“Forgiveness is learning to fly freely from the past.”

– Kandis Blakely, (Creator of NDT™)

Background

This modern and alternative psychotherapy was created by Kandis Blakely MFCC, who is a licensed psychotherapist, registered nutritionist and author. Her work stems from the work of Psychiatrist Dr. John Diamond and Chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart. Dr. Goodheart developed Kinesiology (muscle testing), as a way to use the body as a laboratory to better identify emotional, mental and environmental factors impacting and traumatizing the body. He also drew from the work of Dr. Sigmund Freud, who identified that thoughts, feelings and traumas set up various patterns in a person’s psyche to create the “repetition/compulsion” cycle of behavior which is the foundation of most addictions, depressions and mental imbalances.

In a session

In my office I always combine some form of bodywork with a New Decision Therapy session. If you are ready to release negative patterns of behavior and discover and release emotional traumas that have been compromising your immune system, NDT is the treatment for you. It is quick, and very effective.

New Decision Therapy™ (NDT) utilizes Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing) to determine precisely which trauma memories are stored in the body’s cells.

In working with NDT we simply ask the body to reveal what the soul needs in order to heal.

The keys to NDT’s speed and effectiveness are:

The denial clearing process

We generally go into a state of denial because of three main reasons:

1. The unconscious mind cannot process the information of the trauma experience.

2. The trauma that occurred was so large that the body goes into a state of shock and overwhelm.

3. The trauma event occurred in a pre-verbal time of one’s life.

Focused eye-mirror attention

Using a mirror to focus on, we are able to bring forward memories that are at the root of current physical and emotional challenges, patterns of negative behavior and feelings of depression, unhappiness etc.. When we look into a mirror we are brought face to face with our truth. There is no avoiding it. The mirror tool allows the client to easily and powerfully face themselves with focus, clarity and authenticity.

Affirmations: Thought = Word = Action

Words have power and energy. The vibration and actual pronunciation of words and thoughts profoundly affect the body at its deepest cellular level.

Self-affirming phrases and words begin activating specific body meridian points, opening energy pathways between the conscious and unconscious mind and beginning the process towards the “life urge”.

With these three keys, you are able to affect the movement toward health building and “F.U.L.L”-ness

Forgiveness
Understanding
Letting Go
Love and Acceptance

Try this little exercise while looking in the mirror and become aware of what you notice within yourself!

Find a quiet space. While looking in the mirror, take a deep breath in and say these words. Notice how you feel.

The following words carry meaning that activate the life force energy of the thymus gland thus fortifying your entire immune system.

– I have faith in my self
– I love and accept myself unconditionally
– It is safe to trust in the process of life
– I am grateful for all that has come into my life
– I have courage.
– I step into my greatness
– I am ready to have joy in my life
– I have faith and confidence in my future
– I am secure
– I am worthy of love and acceptance

As a result of participating in NDT sessions, you can look forward to:

– A strengthened immune system
– Relief of chronic pain and tension
– Improved relationships
– Release of self-destructive patterns
– Increased vitality, health and self love
– Motivation to live life to the fullest
– Emotional self-awareness
– Greater strength, clarity and purpose in your life

With New Decision Therapy™ the process activates your life wish. It allows you to remember who you were before you got hurt. NDT is an excellent adjunct to any of the other modalities that I use and I invite you to explore this new way of becoming more of who you really are!

“Your body is a memory bank. All of your experiences are stored there. There is a therapeutic technique that decodes cell memory. It is New Decision Therapy™ .”
